So I have only been for two runs since - and both have been around the lake. My sister's friend is visiting from Sydney and he has been running with me. The first run was a mortifying experience because he WALKED NEXT TO ME at sections while I jogged. Yes, he is very tall and lanky but I OBVIOUSLY RUN VERY SLOW!! How embarrassing! I yelled at him and made him at least look like he was getting excercise too. I didn't really enjoy the run - my calves were burning due to feeling stiff from my previous runs and it was already dark so I was nervous to run fast on the uneven ground. Ah well - dud runs happen.
The second run was much better - my sister ran with us too and they really made me pick up the pace. I sprinted one section mid-way then got back into a running rhythm. We ran all the way home (instead of stopping after lapping the lake) so I did an extra km. Stretched afterwards this time - though can feel a knot in my right calf. MUST run today or tomorrow!
aww this is soo cute your blogging is coming along so well and its good that you are trying your best at this:)
ReplyDeletemiss this is soo good you must feel heaps good after you go running but you would feel better if u gave me my bracelet back pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee =)
ReplyDeleteOk ok I'm getting the guilts because I have hardly done any exercise since the ski trip! My Monday night volleyball doesn't really count - it's fun but not much of a workout.
ReplyDeleteKeep inspiring me to exercise Talbie :)
(And if that fails, I can at least live through you for a while...)
Haha that is pretty embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteYelling at him was a bit uncalled for though.. It's not his fault he's a giant:)
Well done anyway, I hate the feeling of dead legs after a run.. It's hard to even hold your own body weight up.
A good way to recover after a run is hot cold shower. It helps remove the lactic acid by contracting and relaxing the muscles. it should be done 1 min hot 1 min cold (must be cold not warm). 3 times through. MAKE sure you finish on cold. This will help reduce the pain in your legs and make your next run so much better.
ReplyDeleteGood job Miss Talbot.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go for runs at the end of the run, maybe the last 200 or 300 metres I sprint it home. It feels so good when you finish a run though, you just feel happier inside :)
Keep it up!
I'm not that much of a runner though i love sprinting, i have dicided that i am going to go for longer joggs after school because i want to get more fit. how much km do you usually run? I like riding better I think It's more fun
ReplyDeleteTalbie you mad why did i ever leave your class! Thats ok cos my new class is pretty cool aswell (you may remember i switched). Anyway that would feel pretty bad running next to someone who walks faster than you jog but youre probably not slow maybe hes a secret olympic athlete or something.
ReplyDeletehahahha, it's good going for a run at night cause it makes you tied so you will sleep good. have fun with your jogs.
ReplyDeleteYou have to love the good ol' night runs. I go running sometimes as well to keep up my fitness for footy but if I'm not running I'm at the gym pumping the iron aha. Its good to keep in shape because it not only keeps your body healthy but also your mind and your motivation to do exercise. Keep it up! keep running and one day you will run a distance you couldn't think you could have done before :)
