So I used to run... a lot... along the river in Hamilton, New Zealand. The water was always in a hurry. It wasn't a safe place to swim - though I have an awesome memory of riding a surfboard down it with a group of mates - keeping one eye open for coppers :)
The pathways were always awash with soggy, sunburt leaves - was it always autumn or is that my bias memory? Anyway, I miss the bridges - and the ferry... always lit up.
My longest run was around those bridges: I wanted to reach the last one but it was getting dark. Panic = adrenaline :) I ran through the forrest section at such a pace - senses hightened, legs pounding. I did 14 kms - my knees still give me trouble...
So... I bought a new pair of runners last month. I live in Rockingham and have decided to run all the routes on MAPMYRUN (online). It may take me a bit or I may take a run or two in sections but I've gotta do it... I've got to do something... my drawers are falling into my chest :)

  5. HEY.
you can do it. I find that if you put head phones on while you run and also a high beat song on. you dont feel the pain as much because you are to busy listening to the song. belive me it works! Good luck, if any one can run 14 k it would be you

  9. It also helps if someone runs with you cause then they can encourage you to keep on going if you want to stop.
