So I have only been for two runs since - and both have been around the lake. My sister's friend is visiting from Sydney and he has been running with me. The first run was a mortifying experience because he WALKED NEXT TO ME at sections while I jogged. Yes, he is very tall and lanky but I OBVIOUSLY RUN VERY SLOW!! How embarrassing! I yelled at him and made him at least look like he was getting excercise too. I didn't really enjoy the run - my calves were burning due to feeling stiff from my previous runs and it was already dark so I was nervous to run fast on the uneven ground. Ah well - dud runs happen.
The second run was much better - my sister ran with us too and they really made me pick up the pace. I sprinted one section mid-way then got back into a running rhythm. We ran all the way home (instead of stopping after lapping the lake) so I did an extra km. Stretched afterwards this time - though can feel a knot in my right calf. MUST run today or tomorrow!

My second run - rainy but sweet!
So... again my route needs to take a shower into consideration - which friend's place will I use (come on Mr Plumber!)? I chose the above route because I would not have to drive anywhere - it laps past both her place and mine. I ran in the rain and had my worship music blasting again - a good moment. The last quarter was tiring but I upped the pace anyway! Have been a bit stiff since...

Starting out...
Deciding WHERE to run was quite easy - it depended on where the nearest hot water was! My hot water system has been broken for a week and a half. Monday's shower was to be at my friend Lisa's... who lives by the lake :) So I grabbed my ipod, got lost in Bethel worship music and ran a pretty good run. The ground was a bit uneven. Hmm... I think I run too slow. Was great to grab a shower though - and then get offered dinner... delicious corned beef! :)

So I used to run... a lot... along the river in Hamilton, New Zealand. The water was always in a hurry. It wasn't a safe place to swim - though I have an awesome memory of riding a surfboard down it with a group of mates - keeping one eye open for coppers :)
The pathways were always awash with soggy, sunburt leaves - was it always autumn or is that my bias memory? Anyway, I miss the bridges - and the ferry... always lit up.
My longest run was around those bridges: I wanted to reach the last one but it was getting dark. Panic = adrenaline :) I ran through the forrest section at such a pace - senses hightened, legs pounding. I did 14 kms - my knees still give me trouble...
So... I bought a new pair of runners last month. I live in Rockingham and have decided to run all the routes on MAPMYRUN (online). It may take me a bit or I may take a run or two in sections but I've gotta do it... I've got to do something... my drawers are falling into my chest :)
